Rice Pilaf with Almonds & Raisins Prepared with EVOO
If you are looking for a side dish to compliment your main course, Ayvaco Kitchen's Rice Pilaf with Almonds & Raisins is a perfect choice. Put the rice in a dish, add 1 tsp salt and soak in warm water for 15 minutes. Then rinse the rice with cold water to remove starch.
Chop the onion.
Sauté chopped onion and raw almonds in a decent amount of extra virgin olive oil on medium heat until almonds are toasted.
Add your rice and keep sautéing for a minute.
Add broth, raisins and spices then stir until mixed.
Cover and cook on low heat for 30 minutes.
Stir every 10 minutes while cooking.
